Picture day

It's picture day! We went to Portrait Innovations today in Mount Pleasant to have Neil's 3 month pictures done. I'll put a few below:

2 month check-up

Can time stand still for just a few minutes?! There isn't enough time in the day to get everything done for me, Rodney and Neil. Neil has been so good - even slept through the night on Monday night (hasn't done it since, but that's okay!). He is still nursing, but I give him at least one bottle per day to get him used to it. Rodney and I are going skiing at Snowshoe with a few friends on Thursday and not taking Neil with us. I know - I'm in for a shock! I'm trying to mentally prepare not having him with me for 3 days. Rodney is prepared for a breakdown from me - he knows it's coming!

Wednesday was Neil's two month check-up at the doctor. He is becoming a chunky monkey! He is now 24 inches long and weighs 13.4 pounds (90th percentile for height and weight). We had two concerns - his belly button really pokes out and he has a white spot on his tongue that has been there since birth. The doctor let us know that Neil actually has a hernia in his belly button that isn't serious. They are more common in males than females and usually go away by age 4. She has only had to operate on one child in her career because of a belly button hernia. To read more about belly button hernia's, click here. We may have to go to an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist for the white spot on Neil's tongue if it doesn't go away, but it's most likely nothing to worry about. We are going to watch it closely and bring it up again at his 4 month check-up.

I have many pictures that I'll post later this week - I am thinking about changing the website address to something easier to add information to. Not that this is hard, it just takes longer than it should to add pictures and update the text. I want to make this site more of a blog now that Neil is here and this site isn't going to allow me to really do that. So, when I find a site that works well, I'll let you all know!
